Always the people Trey, 100%.
You are one of the people who's taught me that. I will never forget the respect you gave me when I was lucky enough to have a few minutes to speak with you live. You made me feel like an important person in that room, despite the fact that there were plenty of other people there who were actually important from a networking & potential revenue calculation. I then watched you do that with every person you spoke to whether CEO or brand new solo-preneur.
btw I think there's value to Klout (and PeerIndex & Traackr, etc) even beyond the building of a list but I'll talk about that in a post I'm finishing up later, would love you thoughts if you have a minute.

Indeed—it's the people. Always the people. After working with children with disabilities for most of my adult life, I am blown away by how people can surprise and amaze. Humans are prone to make judgements based upon observable data—see a child with an obvious disability, assume he won't accomplish anything of significance. Make that assumption and you'll be dead wrong. The truth is, we just shouldn't judge other people and make assumptions about their future, whether we're looking at a child in a wheelchair or the Klout score of An Influential.

Klout is great for big companies who want to build a list really fast. Not really so great for judging who's worth attending to. Not so great for predicting the future potential value of a relationship.
My recent post <a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/treypennington/~3/XXuYumhv-vQ/" rel="nofollow">Sometimes Like means NO!</a>
